Josh went to his first concert . . .

He is enjoying 2nd grade... this was his Christmas party.

(it was a little crazy)

These lovely ladies from my church surprised me with a 'surrogate' shower.

My sister & brother in-law moved back to PA!!!! Yay!!!

It's been fun . . .

Summer of 2011 will always hold a special place in my heart, because I had this awesome chance to spend so much extra time with Josh.

Going into the summer I had all these plans . . . activities I wanted to do and things I wanted to get done. But instead we relaxed more -we hung out more. . . and ate Popsicle's on the porch . . .and played with neighbors . . . and slept in . . .and stayed in our pj's until -well we just stayed in them ;)

It was fun pretending I was a 'SAHM' for a few months . . . now its time to get back to reality!

Yay- 24 weeks!

I have gained 10 pounds so far. I gained close to 70 pounds with Josh so I am expecting to be packing on the pounds in the final months. For now the extra weight mainly gathers on my lower back making beautiful love handles. My boobs have gotten bigger - which is awesome! I had a very small chest so this is exciting for me. They were pretty normal before Josh - but breastfeeding really changed them:( I am praying that God makes them stick around this time?

I love THIS site it makes me feel normal.

I can't believe its AUGUST already?!? I say that at the beginning of every month but this time I really mean it. This summer is going by so fast - having off more I had planned on getting a lot done around here. But ummmm- that hasn't happened - maybe this month?
We are 6 months pregnant - and I have been enjoying eating a lot lately especially fruits, veggies & just about anything cooked on the grill. Also - I have been craving (nothing to crazy) - cheese, iced tea & V8.

we are dog-sitting for the next couple of days so I will back soon with pictures of are furry friend Ms. Roxy:) & a new belly shot.

Yesterday we took a little . . .

We spent most of the day in the ocean with Josh's boogie board. Then the rest playing in the sand...

Then we finish with a snack on the boardwalk & a few Arcade games.

Adjusting

We are happily adjusting to the many changes this summer has brought....

Adjusting to my growing belly. I am feeling better this week! However, I did have crazy nasty projectile vomiting out of no where the other morning. But if it wasn't for that I would think my morning sickness is finally started to go away- Maybe!? I will be 20 weeks on Saturday- YAY! I will be posting more about being a carrier soon.

Adjusting to Josh finishing first grade!!! I still can't believe he's going to be in second grade? Ugghhh- he was only 3 when I started this blog?This picture was from his last class party:( I really enjoyed being -Room U2's- homeroom mom. It was awesome getting to know his class & teacher.

Adjusting to leaving my job that I have loved for the last 13 years. Okay, I am still filling in on different shifts.... for now. This summer I am staying home with Josh all week. We are watching one of his oldest friends. It has definitely been an adjustment not working. Yet it NEVER ceases to amaze me how God provides for us. For example, this has been my second week not having a set schedule and I was starting to second guess myself? (clearly it was a thought out move -but it is still scary) I filled in for someone at work this weekend and a customer handed me an envelope with a letter & an unexpected blessing. So I am now a millionaire!!!!! Just kidding, lol- but it did take a huge weight off of my shoulders and more importantly it made we stop and thank Him for His faithfulness. Faithfulness that sometimes I don't feel like I even deserve. God is so good to us:)

I got to help out this year!!! Josh was on the RED team.

It was about 92 degrees out that day . . .and as you can see he didn't want me to take his picture!

But I did anyway . . .

They played all sorts of games.

They even got to stick their heads in a cooler of cold water.

& at the end they each enjoyed a cherry water ice.

The first trimester of this pregnancy whooped my butt - seriously!

Morning sickness - exhaustion -constipation (tmi?) ... its been rough - but totally worth it!

I am happy to report that I am know 16 weeks pregnant - and I'm feeling a little more like myself these days.

I am super excited for the parents, but still just praying up until the end:)

Here are some things we have been up to lately . . .

we visited the Please Touch Museum

went on a hayride

hunted Easter eggs

saw Lainey off to her first Phillies game

saw a great friend get married:)

I apologize for my blog hiatus. I was doing so well ... keeping up with my weekly treasures... & my restyles. BUT-I have a good excuse this time- I promise:) I have been completely exhausted. I have been going to bed when Josh goes to bed. After I get him on the bus I run home and sleep until I have to run to work!? (So unlike me)

& I have been sick .....uggghhhh every morning last week & nauseous throughout the whole day.
AND My taste have changed I just want to eat hot dogs w/ sauerkraut and drink (caffeine free) coca cola??? I have not even had the strength to blog . . . I have just been sitting here watching Bravo or OWN.

This was us early Saturday Morning ...

It was Awana Grand Prix Race Day!!!

The track was all set up...

We had to make sure Josh's car was the right weight & size...

All the kids were so excited...

It was a fun morning- I loved seeing how all the kids designed their cars!

1st place in 'Style' was a car shaped as a little dog.

Josh even won a trophy . . .

2nd Place in Speed!!!!

- He was SO excited & I was SO proud of him:)

This week is jammed packed full of birthdays around here!

Co-workers, my Dad's, Josh's Grandma's-yesterday was my sweet niece Lainey's 4th Birthday . . .

Today is Justin Bieber's 17th Birthday!!!!!

I totally have the fever - I just can't help it!? I'm sure I'm probably one of his oldest fans but I don't care he is super inspiring to me - & I love that he was raised by a single mom.

Okay -we made this the other night & it was so good:)

so I thought I would share a quick recipe . . .

Ingredients:

-chicken

-3 to 4 cups milk

-2 1/4 cups solid vegetable shortening or oil, for frying

-1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon salt
-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1 egg, beaten

Is it me or does it seem like when you have two cats- there is one that is a huge instigator.

Maybe its an 'Alpha Male' thing?

Mosby will sit right on Charlie if he wants his spot, he will nudge him out of his way of their food bowl & he loves to run up & give him big bites for no reason!
He tries to hide his trouble maker ways behind big beautiful eyes-but don't let him fool you . . .

Trust me when I say Charlie was not just sniffing.
He was getting Butt-Faced Nudged so Mosby could have the whole window to himself.
He is an Instigator!

Hello Ladies!

Hope are having a nice weekend - we have lots going on today - Josh has to build a Grand Prix Car today & we have a birthday party! But I wanted to post my Project ReStyle Post before I left . . .

Earlier this week I found this for only $1 at a local Thrift Shop. . .

I brought it home - spray painted it white, filled it with soil & pretty little flowers!

I also filled a little Pyrex bowl with some extra flowers . . .

Have I told you lately that I love this little face?

Josh just had some sort of growth spurt over the last few weeks!?!? He has been looking so much older to me lately. He lost his FIRST tooth last weekend &suddenly he barely fits into his little pants! His hair had a growth spurt this week as well - he is getting it cut today after school. Looking at this pictures I still can't believe my baby is already 6!

I just put white ikea fabric around the shade for now -

I like the plain shade but I also sorta like it without the shade?!?

Koala!

Josh was SO excited when he jumped off of the bus on Friday with the class pet Koala!!!

He comes with his own back pack filled with clothes, shoes & a journal. Each student gets to write a chapter about their weekend adventures with Koala.

On Friday the weather was so nice, we went to a hot dog place nearby & ate outside...

Koala had hot sausage with onions & mustard

Then we went swimming

On Saturday we went to the mall...

Josh picked out some new Lego's

Then we stopped for Taco's

Koala got to met Hello Kitty

Next Josh & Koala went to 'Jumpers' this is a super fun Safari themed place filled with bounces!

My mom (aka Mom-Mom) took them while I ran to a house warming party . . .

At night we went to an Open Mic Night at Folsom Community Church:)

We heard some really talented singers!

Sunday morning we made banana pancakes

Then brought Koala to church

Then it was off to New Jersey with my Dad to visit my Sister & the fam:)

I had big plans for restyling & thrifting this weekend!!! But on Friday after school- Josh ran off of the school bus with an extra book bag in his hand & I knew all my plans were going to change! Josh came home with KOALA the class pet that travels home each weekend with one student - we have been eagerly waiting for this weekend since October! We had fun taking lots of goofy pictures with Koala -I will share our entire 3 day weekend shortly!!!!

This week I am embracing my other 2 boys who celebrated a birthday this week!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Charlie & Mosby!!!

Even though they get into everything . . . knock down countless drinks . . . climb curtains . . .watch you taking a bath while dipping there paws in (I have tried squirting them they don't care . . . they seem to like it?&when you lock them out they do this crazy annoying meow at the door!) They LOVE to rip apart paper towels ...drink out of the toilet... & chew on blinds. They also wait by the door for us everyday when we get home . . . snuggle next to us while we are sleeping (Mosby with Josh-Charlie with me)... they have stolen our hearts & they complete this little family.

I love my boys:)

. . .a day late- Oops! Yesterday we were busy celebrating Josh's HALF birthday. That's right he is officially 6 and a half years old . . . . half way to SEVEN! When your birthday is in the summertime you are allowed to celebrate your half birthday in Josh's class:)We whipped some Rice Krispie Treats to send in-

I took pictures last night when he was taking his bath. Because let's face it- my days of taking pictures and hanging out while he is taking a bath are numbered:( He will soon want his privacy and me taking his picture will just be weird. This week I ReStyled an Antique Aluminum Oil Pitcher that I picked up at a local thrift shop for $1!

With a little silver spray paint I turned it into a shinny vase.

It's a fun little antique to have around- kind of reminds me of this guy . . .

For this weeks ReStyle I used this old tablecloth - which I loved . . .

But sadly it had stains in the center:(

I thought I would use some of the fabric for something else?!?!?!

I also used some other scrap fabric I had.

I didn't really know what I was making at first . . .

Maybe a picnic blanket?

Maybe another tablecloth?

Last minute I turned it into a cozy cat bed . . .

Charlie was happy:)

SNOW DAY!!!

It was cold . . .I'm sorry if I look like a weirdo.

Yesterday- Josh stayed home from school. I was surprised to see SO much snow when I woke up & looked outside - the roads were bad! I had a feeling if I sent Josh in that his school would just send everyone home early. & sure enough, at about 11 I got the call from his teacher to start calling all the parents to let them know about the early dismissal-
(One of the many fun duties of being the Homeroom Mommy;)
Josh spent the day hanging out & playing in the snow!

We even whipped up some good old -snow spray paint . . .

The bottles were only 99 cents at Target - just add water & food coloring!

it was a great day . . .

yes three random things . . .

1st- I recently participated in my very first Pyrex Trade with the Lovely Taylor!!!!

This cream & sugar set came in the mail yesterday . . .

I'm in Love!

2nd- I found something at my favorite thrift shop today that I have been searching for!!!

A chair for Josh's desk- it was only $2!

& 3rd - For tonight's dinner I made something I found in one of those small Martha Stewart recipe magazines, while I was waiting in line at Target.

It was SO EASY & SO GOOD!

You just need chicken tenderloins, bacon & fresh sage

Wrap the chicken up in bacon with one sage leaf inside.

Heat skillet with a little extra virgin olive oil.

Start cooking- sage leaf down!

Turn after about 6 minutes- cook on medium heat until thoroughly done

& that's it

I had mine with some spinach lettuce & ranch:)

At a recent estate sale I purchased 2 copies of this 1962 Philadelphia Inquirer. I saved one & ReStyled one into fun Valentine's Day Garland!

Here are some of the pretty articles & advertisement's . . .

This is a fun & easy craft for all ages.

-Cut out a bunch of the same size strips
(I did mine about 2 x 5 inches)

-Hold together 2 pieces and staple at one end

-Split & pull each strip around

-Staple other ends together

-Next cut thinner/longer strips & simply loop together 2 hearts . . .

Another idea- is to take thread and string them all together and have them hang down . . .

Yesterday Josh had off school- his Bff came over to play. Then he had karate . . .

After practice we made some cupcakes. I'm supper excited for Valentine's Day this year - so we made some early festive cupcakes . . .

Good Morning

Hello it is 5:30 in the morning here & I can not sleep. I think it is because I filled in for someone at work yesterday- & it turned out to be a very busy day. Then I came home & played with Josh - who takes a ton of energy out of me- all worth it of course:)We went to bed so early last night.

Now here I am wide awake? Just thinking about the millions of things to get done today. It has been crazy around here the last few days. I am on a HUGE cleaning/orangizing/de-cluttering process. I also rearranged most of our furniture:)
I'm just about done & it feels so good. I have boxes of things that either need to be donated- or listed. I have some of Josh's old things to stick on ebay- books for amazon & even some furniture for craigslist . . . as well as a shop update to do later this evening!

Okay enough rambling its shower time- Josh is singing in church this morning! Plus I have two boys waiting for their breakfast . . .

I'll be back later with my weekly treasures!

Okay- last week I was sitting in my car waiting for a train to go by when I looked over & saw a baby changing table right on the sidewalk (next to the trash) So I pulled over & I called my dad to come get it & bring it over to my house. What?- I couldn't get it myself ... & I don't have a husband to do my dirty work:)

First I scrubbed it down . . .

Then I brought it inside

I took off the straps & sawed off the unnecessary parts

Then I painted it white

Lined it with vintage liner I thrifted this week . .

Then I filled it with pretty Pyrex . . .

This is my big sister, look how cute she was with her vintage snoopy shirt & blonde bob!

Last Wednesday my sister, brother in law & 2 sweet nieces
moved:( They went from being 2 minutes away to living in a different state.

Even though I knew it was coming I guess I just didn’t really want to think about it . . . like it really wasn’t ever going to happen. & if it did it was no biggie - I would be fine- after all its not like we were together everyday? At least that’s what was I was telling myself . The day after they moved I woke up and it was such a weird feeling- she wasn’t a 2 minute car ride away anymore & either are these sweet little faces. . .

My sister and her husband (who really is like a brother to me) are amazing people! Words could not possible express how completely thankful I am to have them - I would not be the single mom I am today if it wasn’t for there love and support. They have done SO much for me! Seriously - A LOT!!! They are the best!!!!!

We went to visit them this weekend & had a nice time. It was hard saying goodbye:( I'll get use to . . .one day... but not anytime soon!!!

I just finished my first Project Restyle!
I had everything I needed for this:
- White Spray paint
- Vintage linens
-& the chair was my Mom-Mom's - Ella!

First I cleaned it up & painted it . . .

(Josh took this - lol- I am SO pale!!!)

Next I sewed up a pretty cover. . .

& That's it!!!

I have off today-YaY! I am going into Josh's class to read later this afternoon!!!!

Last night Josh had asked for hot dogs for dinner, this request is fairly common around here. So for a change I had him wrap them up in Pillsbury croissant dough. It has been awhile since he had a 'pig in a blanket' & he loved them:)

Fable of the Porcupine

I went to a Bible study back in October with my sister & they passed this sweet little story around. In case you haven't heard it I thought I would share . . .

It was the coldest winter ever. - Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.
Moral of the story: The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.

I am looking forward to a great year!It always amazes me how much can change in one year. I think about where I was last year and all the events that happened throughout 2010 and it makes me wonder where I will be this time next year. I thought it would be nice to write about where I am now so I can look back on it next year. Not that I will forget in one short year- LOL:) I just think it will be neat to look back on . . .

I am 31 Josh is 6 and he is in 1st grade. He is doing great in school and enjoys going to karate, awana & choir. I STILL work at the deli but I am bored and really want to figure out what it is I want to do other then waitress. John has been sick lately and I am trying to take care of him as best as I can. My sister, brother in law and my 2 nieces are getting ready to move to a whole different state this week. I am seeing a special someone, he is awesome but we both have soooo much going on this year it will be interesting to see what happens. 2010 was good to me- we moved into our new place that we love, we had 2 orange furry additions to the family & Josh started a new school!!!! 2010 was all about being happy- picking myself up and moving on from 2009 (which was a heartbreaking year) I have so much I want to do this year. Life changing plans that I am so excited about!!!!

Christmas 2010

We had a lovely Christmas!

The holidays came fast for me this year. It seems like every year I save most of my shopping for the last minute- I shouldn't do this. Every year I also promise myself that I will start shopping earlier, I just am not good at Christmas shopping early?!? Last week was very hectic -I am trying to relax more this week with Josh. I am going to enjoy our time off together by playing with all his fun new toys. It was so sweet on Christmas morning he ran down the steps & started opening his first present- he stopped- looked up and said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS - I LOVE YOU!" It was so awesome- it made me so proud to hear Josh give Jesus the glory He deserves on His special day:)

Here are some pictures of our week - we attempted a gingerbread house - played with our crazy cats - & enjoyed the Christmas decorations( they get packed up pretty fast around here)

Josh did a great job in The Christmas Pageant as a lil' angel!!!

We had a great time with family! It's so fun watching the kiddies opening their presents & seeing those sweet little faces light up:)

It was a great day, we started off with some games...

1st up was Christmas Bingo

2nd was Pass the Present

3rd was Musical Christmas

& he was so happy when he won everyone hugged him!)

(Josh made fun of me that morning for wearing a turtleneck? Whatever-I still rocked it at the party;)

Then it was craft time (I didn't get a picture)
Next was snack time!

He also had his Holiday Showcase yesterday . . .

I opened Josh's folder from school yesterday & found a lil' drawling-
He told me his friend Maya drew it for him. It is a 'Peace Puppy' with HEART shaped eyes . . . & notice the heart after her name?!?! Josh blushed when I asked about Miss. Maya. Hmmm, I think I may have to have a lil' chat with her tomorrow at the class Christmas Party;)

The rest of my weekend . . .

This Saturday we went to Lancaster! There is a small amusement park there (for younger kids) called Dutch Wonderland. In the winter in turns into Dutch Winter Wonderland - they have tons of Christmas Lights all over & every 15 minutes they have a light show!

They serve hot chocolate & play Christmas music all through the park.

We had a great night!!!

On Sunday Josh had Christmas Pageant Practice then he went caroling with his Grandma's church to a local nursing home. I did not want to frighten any elderly people with my horrifying voice so I did not go! Instead I had an early dinner with my handsome friend (he is blushing right now at his desk reading this-lol;) We He made delicious salmon topped with crab meat, steamed asparagus, baked potatoes & a yummy salad. It was so good! We had a great time….& he got me the most thoughtful birthday gift ever!!!

Back in August I broke my favorite piece of Pyrex -well I didn’t break it- one of my crazy cats knocked it over & it shattered everywhere. Needless to say I was sad:( I told him about it right after it happened. . . & he remembered! He found me the same thing- actually in BETTER condition!!!!

He’s the best:)& I have been meaning to say Thanks So Much for the birthday wishes.... you girls are the best too! Have a great Wednesday!

New Christmas Ornament

It has been a busy couple of days around here! On Friday nights Josh has been going to a local church for their Awana Club. He loves it! They play games, sing songs & have a little Bible lesson. They each get a book and a vest & get points for learning verses. You can watch Josh do his first memory verse HERE! When we arrived home on Firday night we found a brand new ornament in the Christmas tree . . .

These cats are so crazy-lol! But we love them:) I'll be back to post about the rest of are fun weekend!

Today I would like to send a post out to a

special lady on her special day - My Aunt Maureen!

(Totally Gorgeous!)

My Aunt Maureen lives about 45 minutes away from me- out in the country. When I was little it felt like we had to travel to a different country to get there. They always had a bunch of dogs running around at my Aunt Maureen's, being an animal lover I was in heaven. Down the street her friend had a farm - I remember feeding a horse a huge cucumber!

When I was very young she drove a white Camaro and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

She is super crafty & an amazing baker!!!

My Aunt Maureen & Uncle John took me on lots of fun vacations when I was little - we went to Virginia & Cape May!

She is a great mother to 2 beautiful girls, my cousin Jennifer & Lisa! My Aunt is the most thoughtful person… this pretty lady is on top of her cards… every holiday & event that Josh is going through, you better believe that Aunt Maureen has the absolute most perfect card waiting for us in the mailbox!(&that is no easy task considering my moving history) It is greatly appreciated -( thanks for that Thanksgiving Card for Josh!- he loved it!)

31 Years Ago Today . . .

I was born! I can't believe I am 31 today- I will admit that I like being in my thirties - my twenties were pretty crazy for me.

It is really strange to think that 10 YEARS AGO I turned 21?!?

I remember it - sort of?!? I was a lot different then . . .

I remember going to a bar in West Chester called 15 North to celebrate. It was a big place with 2 floors & high ceilings. This moose was on the wall?

This is me and my sister-she drove that night!(she is the BEST:)

That night Bam Magera showed up with Don Vito.

Don Vito was dressed as Elvis and Bam was making him take as many shots of Blackberry Brandy as he could. I remember clearly taking a shot with him. Classy I know;)

I remember the band singing happy birthday to me when I was in the bathroom -lol! & again later when I was on stage!

I also remember meeting a guy named Sean . . . but forgetting the part when I gave him my number. Until he called the next day & asked me out to dinner! We went on a few dates - he was really nice. But I was a newly single 21 year old & didn't want anything serious.

I am in no way proud of being a wild drunk birthday girl. But at the time that is who I was . . . & it is awesome to see how much God changed my life in the last 10 years! He took these crazy times & made them part of my testimony today! He is so Good:)

Christmas Tradition

Many of you know that Josh has a rare condition called Eagle-Barrett Syndrome( you can read about it here) I am extremely thankful to say that at the moment he just needs a check up from his urology doctor once a year. This was Josh last week getting his kidney ultrasound.

He looks so big here! When he was a baby I would have to hold my lil' wiggle worm down. I took this picture after it was all done. The ultrasound tech- asked me if it would be okay if a student took a quick look while she sent the images over to Josh's doctor. He was watching 'Stuart Little', and looked completely content so I thought it would be fine!

His appointment went great - his doctor was happy with everything! I had a question about Josh's physical limitations as well as the possibility of future scoliosis. Children with this syndrome lack abdominal muscles so they have a higher chance of back problems. His doctor thought it would be a good idea if Josh had a visit with an orthopedic specialist. We got an appointment a few short days later.

Josh had a few back & hip x-rays as well as a full body exam. The orthopedic specialists were AWESOME!& everything looked GREAT- YAY! Josh did such a great job!
Josh's main doctor's have all been from DuPont Children's Hospital. To say I absolutely adore this hospital would be an understatement. I remember once when Josh had a completely unexpected overnight stay at this hospital (it is not around the corner)- volunteers from the Child Life Center brought him in games & toys & even a beautiful new quilt. It was so nice and it made his stay more comfortable and mine less nerve racking!

It has become our Christmas Tradition for the last 4 years to bring toys back to the Child Life Center. This is a place upstairs in the hospital- there are air hockey tables, TVs, games, crafts, books & more. It gives the kids that are staying in the hospital a place to go. It's nice for them to get a break from their rooms. If they are unable to leave their rooms the volunteers will bring fun things to them!

These are some of the games that Josh had picked out -that he insisted on carrying himself.

Every year when I go back to this hospital it brings back memories. Not only am I reminded of how great this hospital is but I am reminded of how even greater my God is! His mercies are new every morning and He blesses us each & everyday. As we prepare to celebrate His birthday it is such an awesome time for Josh to be reminded of how simply amazing Jesus is.

Then we have our latest tradition . . .

I got to do a lil' extra thrifting this week & have stumbled upon some pretty amazing treasures!!! - I am going to share more about them this weekend. Also Josh had an awesome urology check up AND a orthopedic check up- I am going to blog about that soon too. But for now I am just going to share a simple recipe I found via Rachael Ray's lovely site . . .

•2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
•8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
•Salt and ground black pepper
•1 1/2 pounds baby potatoes
•1 small onion, chopped
•2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
•4-5 sprigs thyme, leaves picked and chopped
•2 lemons, thinly sliced
•1/4 cup honey
•1/4 cup chicken stock or water

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and brown on both sides.Scatter the potatoes, onion, garlic, thyme and lemon slices in the bowl of a crock pot. Season with salt and pepper. Lay the browned chicken over the veggies and drizzle with honey. Add the stock or water, cover and cook, undisturbed, for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low

I Love using my slow cooker when I have a lot going on! Its the best walking in from a busy day with Josh knowing that dinner is ready and it smells sooo good! Espically when garlic is involved . . .

Josh is a very picky eater - but I have found that if you stick a kabob through it OR fancy toothpicks . . . he will eat it!?

....Oh & a puddle of ranch on his plate is a must!

On Sunday Josh sang his little heart out again in the the children's choir!I Love watching him up there... the lil' guy next to him had a serious poke to the eye right before-Ouch!

After church they had their first practice for the Christmas Pageant. I couldn't wait to find out what part he picked?

Josh wanted to be a sweet Angel- I'm so excited to see him on Christmas Eve:)

In other news we have been busy with lots of fun stuff going on- Josh started karate- I still have to get a good picture of him in his karate gear. He seems to be picking it up quickly. It is a challenge to feel out what activities to put & encourage your child in. You don't want to force them into something that they have no interest in . . . & you don't want to see them quit activities they have begged you to join . . . but at the same time you don't want them to end of hating the activity?!? I am trying to get Josh to try a few different activities at different times to get him involved with things that he really has an interest in - & LOVES to do! For example, he adores choir - he wasn't a fan of piano - he loved swimming- he wasn't crazy about soccer (& there are somethings that are not even an option for Josh - like football) We live close to a Y so they always offer a ton of different activities for kids. Speaking of the Y I need to get back to the gym this week! I think it's the colder weather that is making me feel blah &sluggish (I guess it could be the lack of sleep as well?) -I saw an episode of the Kardashian's this weekend (guilty pleasure- I know) - Kim &; Chloe were taking a class at the gym - it was a type of 'Boot Camp' class . . . & it totally made me want to get my lazy butt to the gym . . .

Last Night

I took Josh to a Christmas Tree lighting at a cute little town near by! It was a lot of fun- Makin' Music - a local children's band was there rockin' out with fun holiday songs.

This man was dancing with his dog in the crowd- totally weird?!

There was even a visit from the Philly Phanatic!!!

It was a fun night - it got me even more excited for Christmas!!!!

Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I had my family over for dinner!

It was fun setting up different Pyrex & vintage pieces

We had a great day!!!

I have SO much to be thankful for!!! After we hugged everyone goodbye it was time to celebrate two crazy kitties very first Thanksgiving with a turkey dinner . . .

(a great thing about hosting Thanksgiving is having lots of yummy leftovers:)

Job Day

Josh's class had a Job Day on Friday!!! Each child had to pick out what they want to be when they grow up. They had to come to school dressed as their profession- along with fun props:)
I saw a vet, a doctor, a future fashion designer & even a little ballerina! It was so sweet.

When Josh first brought home the assignment he wasn't exactly sure on what he wanted his future career to be. But after some long talks on his interests he decided on a Music Teacher!

I am so thankful for Josh's awesome teacher & his fun first grade class:) We made cupcakes to celebrate the last day of school before their long Thanksgiving week off!!!

Sometimes it is hard to keep praying for a certain situation or for a certain person. When you seem to be getting no answers to prayer. I am so an instant gratification type girl... when I want something- I want it fast. I don't like to wait. When I pray I like quick results whether I like the outcome or not. God however knows what is best in our lives and that means carrying out His will no matter how long it may take. This verse always encourages me to keep praying for those requests that at times seem helpless.

It seems like one thing is going wrong after another around here!? Josh was out of school for most of last week recovering from croup. He finally started feeling better & I suddenly started to lose my voice yesterday afternoon? I had a sore throat but other then that I felt fine. This morning I sounded better- I got Josh off to school & ran to work . . . I made two big cups of hot water with lemon and honey:)

Then I ate ton of our homemade chicken noodle soup

I made it through the day... luckily I have a coworker who keeps me laughing all day

It seems to be getting worse by the minute:(
I am eating the only thing that is making we feel better....ice cream....yummm!

I got a bunch of these little guys in all different flavors!

Hello- Just checking in to say hi! (Blogging everyday is hard work, even several times a week takes time. I'm not sure how some women do it? But I give them a ton of credit)- I got my hair done today!!!! Well- I sort of chickened out. I did go back to my natural reddish brown hair- but the hairdresser still added blond highlights on top! So its not completely shocking when you see me- I am very happy with how it turned out:) I'll post pictures soon.

Tonight me & Josh hung out at home.
Tomorrow after church Josh will be out for the day. I plan on relaxing for a little while & reading a bunch of lovely blogs that I need to catch up on. Then I am updating etsy with lots of new treasures!!!!!Want a peek at a few . . .

. . . then I have friendly dinner date:)

Flashback to Charlie & Mosby

Some of you may remember our 2 sweet little cats! We absolutely LOVE these crazy kitties- they are a huge part of our little family:)

This is Charlie & Mosby when they were 8 weeks old . . .

They are getting so big! They makes us laugh everyday- this is Charlie making a bed out of a basket in the bathroom ... where I keep wash clothes & hand towels . . .

& this is Mosby about to lay down in the bathtub after Josh was done. Look closely- you can see how the bubbles are still in the tub & his tail is touching them?!?

This is last night during Josh's bath when Mosby actually JUMPS half way in . . .

(I tried to swap the audio to hide my dorky laugh - but it doesn't seem to have worked .... it is weird & even scarier then the youtube music?!)
